Traverse Cinema Studio was officially launched in 2022 by founder and film director Thomas Kolicko. Our mission is to craft original non-fiction films, shows, and documentaries using digital cinema techniques. We are the sister company to Traverse Image LLC, a Colorado-based client and commercial production company founded in 2015. Traverse Cinema Studio's purpose is to create character-driven, original non-fiction works for those who love the outdoors.
Founder and film director Thomas Kolicko's passion for documentary filmmaking began at age 14 when he first picked up a camera to document snowboarding adventures with friends on the icy slopes of rural New Jersey. Inspired by renowned production companies like Warren Miller, Mack Dawg Productions, and Level 1, Thomas dreamed of creating a studio that combined his love for filmmaking, mountains, and adventure. Traverse Cinema Studio is the realization of that dream, with a mission to develop, produce, and release a new non-fiction film every 12-18 months. As an independent studio with full creative control, we are committed to maintaining authentic character voices while embracing innovative filmmaking techniques in non-fiction filmmaking.
Traverse Cinema Studio fills a unique niche in the film industry, serving as a production company that embodies the spirit of an outdoor brand.
